Bucks +2 vs. Hawks L

Fear the deer. The Hawks suck on the road and just got embarrassed at home by the Bucks.  Will they fight back?  I don’t know, but I do know the Bucks will want to end the series tonight and not head back to a raucous Atlanta crowd.

Thunder +1.5 vs. Lakers W

One thing we know about the Lakers (besides Kobe being a Ben Rapeleisberger) is that they are lazy.  They are complacent with winning this series at home in Game 7.  Thunder are young, fresh, and should be motivated by a home crowd after an embarrassing performance (which we called).

Nuggets +6 @ Jazz L

Nuggets down in the series, without Nene, and traveling to Utah.  Sounds like trouble right?  Well the public loves the Jazz and this line is rather short.  We truly feel the Thuggets come to play hard tonight.  Whenever you see a fallen teammate you rise to the occasion.  Melo will put this team on his shoulders.  This would be an easy call if George Karl was coaching, unfortunately we got a dummy.  Nuggets extend the series and head back home.

Thursday April 29, 2010 (1-0)

Spurs -3.5 vs. Mavs W

The Mavs have had no answer for Ginobli and Hill.  Throw in Parker and thats two guards too quick for Jason “wife beater” Kidd.  Kidd, Dirk and the crew just aren’t tough enough to even this series up.  The Spurs know they need to win this one because going back to Dallas will be very difficult.

Wednesday April 28, 2010 (1-0)

Nuggets -6.5 vs. Jazz W

Tough spread to lay here but the Thugs will not let the Jazz take this series in Denver.  Do or die baby!

Tuesday April 27, 2010 (1-0)

Lakers -6 vs. Thunder W

No way the Lakers give homecourt advantage back to the Thunder, right?  We’ll see.

Monday April 26, 2010 (1-0)

Suns -6 vs. Blazers W

No way the Suns give homecourt advantage back to the Blazers, right?  We’ll see.

Thursday April 22, 2010 (1-0)

Thunder -3 vs. Lakers W

This is a tough one.  Laying points against the Lakers is never fun and generally not profitable.  However, this is a must win for OK City and the public is pounding the dogs.  The public has been killed early in these playoffs, including us biting on the Mavs last night.  Durant goes off on the home court.

Wednesday April 21, 2010 (0-1)

Mavs -3.5 vs. Spurs L

As much as we want to take the Spurs, the Mavs are the better team and have owned the Spurs of late.  Also, the Mavs outrebounded the Spurs by 11 in game 1.  If that continues we may see a double digit victory instead of just a 6 point narrow win.  Dirk knows his time is winding down and they are playing to win it all.

Tuesday April 20, 2010 (1-0)

Thunder +6.5 @ Lakers W

The Thunder play great defense, but failed in Game 1 due mainly to Durant’s poor shooting and going just 12% from 3 point range.  That should change.  Also, over 80% of the public is on the Lakeshow and the spread is just 6.5.  Smells fishy, so we’ll take the dog.

Sunday April 18, 2010 L (1-1-1)

Thunder +8 @ Lakers P

Kevin Durant.

Bobcats +10 @ Magic W

Larry Brown.

Suns -8 vs. Trailblazers L

This may be Steve Nash’s year as this team finally looks ready to make a playoff run.  They still don’t play great defense, but without Brandon Roy I don’t see the Blazers being able to keep up with the Suns fast pace.

Saturday April 17, 2010 (1-0)

Nuggets -5 vs. Jazz W

We like the Jazz, and they could win this series, however we go with the home team who will play inspired for George Karl, and the Jazz are disappointed for not getting home court advantage and not having Kirilenko.  Kirilenko really does it for this team.  Boozer is also playing hurt which should offset K-Mart’s injury.

Wednesday April 14, 2010 (1-1)

Bulls -2 @ Bobcats W

Again, win and they’re in.  Bobcats may rest starters.

Knicks +8 @ Raptors L

If the Raptors win and the Bulls lose, Raptors are in.  They play at the exact same time.  Seeing the Raptors play against the Bulls we saw zero energy and no toughness without Chris Bosh.  Even with the urgency, we just don’t see them getting up for this one as much as the Bulls will for theirs.  Their playing with no heart.  Knicks have nothing to play for but they haven’t been laying down, completely.

Tuesday April 13, 2010 (1-0)

Bulls -/+ whatever vs. Celtics (Line ended at Bulls -6) W

No line up here, but we’ll take whatever does finally post as the Bulls need to win one of their next two to get in the playoffs.  They are 23-17 at home and won’t mess around with this one.  The Raptors have one game left versus the lowly Knicks.  Bulls take this one seriously.

Monday April 12, 2010 (0-1)

Seattle -115 vs. Athletics L

Seattle is not as bad as their 2-5 record and the A’s aren’t as good as their 5-2 record, are they?  This is Seattles home opener so we get a good push from the home crowd.  These pitchers faced each other this season with Rowland Smith pitching slightly better.  Look for the Mariner’s to seek revenge.

Thursday April 6, 2010 (0-2)

Ernie Els +140 over Tiger Woods - The Masters L

Tiger makes his comeback and he is overrated.  The guy hasn’t golfed in 5 months and will have women on his mind.  Hecklers may also be around.  Lots on his mind, while Easy E will be relaxed.  We’ll take our shot with Double E.

Pirates +135 vs. Dodgers L

Great value here with Maholm.  Maholm has tricky pitches that are difficult to hit and his ballpark serves him well.  Billingsley is a stud but he struggled early on last year as well.  Dodgers have a bunch of injuries.  Side with the dog.

Monday April 5, 2010 (1-0)

Butler +7.5 vs. Duke W

We’ll go back to hating Duke.  We think Duke is the better team, but not by that much.  Their thrashing of West Virginia gives us a couple more points on the line.  Butler will slow down the game and play ugly.  These kids will be playing their hearts out and because of that I just don’t think the game can get out of hand.  This does kind of remind us of the Michigan State/UNC final where it was defense vs. offense.  However Butler has proved they can wear down anybody in beating Cuse and K-State.  Butler NEEDS to hit shots better than they did against Sparty.  Duke will not get the open looks they did versus the WVU zone.  Woof woof.

Saturday April 3, 2010 (2-0)

Duke -2 vs. West Virginia W

This should be a very tough game, but we’ll go with team size and who the refs will be rooting for =)   Duke has a big size advantage, and we think the Kentucy/WVU game was kind of flukey.  Great gameplan by WVU, but they got lucky UK missed over 20 3 pointers.  UK also missed double digit free throws.  They literally left over 70 points off the board on missed threes and FTs alone.  Still, the game was close at the end.  People argue they were contested shots, but we saw a ton of open misses.  We hate Duke and always have.  We like them here.  They shot very poorly at times versus an equally athletic Baylor squad and still won by a fair margin.  Singler had a terrible night.  He will shoot better in this one.  The goofy white boys advance.

Butler/Michigan State UNDER 126 W

These teams are tough and play great defense.  Butler has held all their tourney opponents under 60 points.  Crazy good.  This game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium.  We have seen lots of bricks in football stadiums.  Lots of nerves in this one so I wouldn’t be surprised to see 0 points on the board 4 minutes into the game.  Low number, but we’ll still take our shot.
