Suns -1 vs. Lakers L

The Fakers are going to win this series and get beat by the Celtics in the Finals.  The Fakers have great talent and ridiculous length; but lack toughness.  Suns win this one and it goes back to LA where they pull it off.  The home team has won in every game this series so why wouldn’t we lay the single point with the Suns?  Plus, Steve Nash is in the zone.  Game 7 here we come!

Celtics -3 vs. Magic W

This is a tough call but we have to stick with our original opinion that the Cs are the better squad.  Hopefully Wallace plays.  We do not believe Baby Davis will play. Celtics need to up the intensity on defense by keeping Nelson in front of them.  Rondo needs to be smarter with the ball, and Pierce needs to pass when he is double or triple teamed!  Ray Allen goes off from 3 and the Celts find a way to win this one.  No way they can send this back to Orlando.

Lakers -7.5 vs. Suns L

The Magic bench will not score 56 points without their home crowd.  The Lakers will look to end the Suns streak.  There is no way the Lakers lose this game so we will take our shot with the fairly large spread.

Celtics +4 @ Magic L

We will continue to back the better team in this series no matter what the line.  Can the Magic make a comeback?  Maybe, but not likely.  Celtics are better and played real sloppy in Game 4 and still almost won.

Lakers @ Suns UNDER 222 W Phew!

We’ll take a shot here at the under.  All three games have sailed over.  Somebodies gotta play defense at some point right?  Maybe a ref will make sure the game doesn’t go over?  Maybe, but we know the public can’t keep killing these books with the easy over pick.  Amare shouldn’t be able to score 42, and Nash is hurt.  Maybe these teams learned something from last nights game: Good defense wins games.....but probably not.

Celtics -7 vs. Magic L

Poor Vegas had to set a line on this?  Ouch!  Typically an obvious pick like this where the public is pounding the favorite, you stay away.  However, this line is just a reaction to Vegas knowing they set a bad line to begin with.  The Magic are completely demoralized.  They have nothing to play for, and the Celtics are just a much better team.  Vegas is going to lose money on this one because Boston wins by double digits.

Celtics -3 vs. Magic W

Why not?  The Celtics look motivated and into this series.  The Magic look like they don’t care.  Seriously, check out their attitude during timeouts.

Celtics @ Magic OVER 188 L Horrible

The Magic will be looking for revenge but there is no way in hell I’m going to lay 7.5 points with them.  Boston is hot and was able to get so many easy buckets in Orlando.  These teams have not gone over 190 points in every matchup this season.  However, the game almost went over with just a 73 point first half in Game 1!  Orlando will shoot much better and Boston will continue to do its thing.  Boston might even get lazy in this one and soften up on D.  Somebody reaches the 100 mark here.

Suns +6.5 @ Lakers L

Read our April picks and you’ll see we like this Suns team.  The Lakeshow had the Suns number this season, but the Suns are much better now than they were earlier in the regular season.  The Lakers get lazy with a lead and Derek Fisher will have fits with Steve Nash.  Getting Robin Lopez back is huge because at the very least he can give them some fouls to keep Amare out of trouble.  Yes the lakers have more size, but as we’ve said before they are still soft.  They are the largest finesse team I have ever seen.

Celtics +6.5 @ Magic W

Looks like we are going to ride the Celts again.  The Magic are definitely playing their best basketball right now, but could another long layoff finally hinder their magic?  They had two fairly inept playoff opponents in the Bobcats and Hawks.  The Celts should be a big step up and they are playing extremely confident right now.  They are old and I think they realize this and are shooting for the big 3’s final Championship run.  The Celts play great defense on the road and played the Magic tight in both road matchups this regular season.  The Magic caught them in a slump in Game 1, and needed a huge comeback to defeat them in a separate matchup.  The Celts have what it takes to steal Game 1.

Celtics @ Magic UNDER 189.5 W

Fresh legs for Orlando means great defense.  Tired legs for the Celts may mean lots of jump shots and taking the clock down to the buzzer.  Rondo will not be able to drive to the hoop like he has in previous series because of Big Dwight.  We think this series will cash a lot of Unders.

Celtics -1 vs. Cavs W

This seems like a sucker bet.  Public is on the Celtics and everyone is dogging Lebron, bad!  Also, the NBA would love to see a game 7 and really want Lebron to win it all this year.  This could mean some sketchy referee calls.  Regardless, we have to go with the better team.  After the game KG stressed how important this game is so I do not see them laying a stinker like in Game 3.  Take out Lebron and the remaining four Celtics starters are much better than the Cavs.  Lebron can’t do it all, and by the look of him in Game 5 he doesn’t seem to have the killer instinct.  Boston does not let Lebron roll through Beantown with a win.  But why is this line just 1 in Boston but 7.5 in Cleveland???  WTF?!!  Watch out for the conspiracy.

Celtics +7.5 @ Cavs W

We’ve seen a lot of strange games in this series including some blowouts.  I think this one runs close.  Celtics have what it takes to win this series and Mike Brown is not a smart coach.  If Lebron struggles at all the Celtics win.

Thursday May 6, 2010 (1-0)

Magic/Hawks OVER 189 W

Trends.  Hawks are 9-1 to the Over after a loss of 10 points or more.  Magic are 10-4 to the Over after allowing 85 or less.  Hawks will certainly shoot better than they did, and the Hawks can’t stop the Magic in Orlando.

Wednesday May 5, 2010 (1-0)

Suns -2.5 vs. Spurs W

Game 1 the rebounding and free throws were about even.  The Suns simply shot better.  The Suns also had five more turnovers.  They will need to work on that to get the win here.  Suns learned a lot from their home loss versus the Blazers and will not have any down games in Phoenix.  Suns go up 2-0 and the Spurs even the series back in Texas.

Tuesday May 4, 2010 (1-0)

Magic/Hawks UNDER 192.5 W

A lot of these Game 1s have gone over, but this one should be ugly.  Hawks will be focused after getting a nice scare from the Deer and the Magic have had plenty of rest.  Rest sometimes means your shot will be off early.  Fresh legs= solid defense.  Look for a half court grinding game here.

Monday May 3, 2010 (1-0)

Suns -4 vs. Spurs W

We really like this Suns team (when they focus).  They are 14-4 against Southwest Division opponents.  They win game one, so we’ll lay the short line.

Lakers -7 vs. Jazz L

Similar to Jazz @ Nuggets Game 1.  Lakers should take this one and the Jazz are real banged up.  Boozer won’t have the field day he had last series with two 7 footers and Artest should contain a banged up Deron Williams.
